over simplified art is probably my least favourite thing!! like if art is (and this is my own subjective definition of it ) documentation of human expression, then the best way to murder it is to erase all the beautiful, complex, nuanced parts of the human experience and make big, crass statements. like fuck obvious art, fuck a painting that connects the dots for the viewer and doesn’t allow them to think. also on that note i’m completely restarting as an artist because literally every work i’ve ever made has been based on shallow aesthetic value and not any deeper meaning.
